Housing Stability Services (HSS) is dedicated to supporting landlords who house subsidized or low-income renters. Our primary focus is to prevent evictions by addressing rental arrears and securing financial stability for landlords.
These provide immediate, short-term relief for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. They offer a safe place to sleep, basic hygiene facilities, and often meals. Some emergency shelters also provide case management and support services to help individuals transition to more stable housing.
Transitional housing programs offer temporary housing for up to 24 months, coupled with supportive services such as job training, counseling, and case management. These programs are designed to help individuals and families move from homelessness to permanent housing.
PSH combines affordable housing with voluntary supportive services, such as mental health care, substance abuse treatment, and employment services. It is targeted at individuals with chronic homelessness and other significant barriers to housing stability.
This approach aims to quickly move individuals and families from homelessness to permanent housing through short-term rental assistance and supportive services. The goal is to reduce the time people spend homeless and provide them with the support needed to maintain housing stability.
Local government agencies, such as the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), provide rental assistance programs like Section 8 vouchers, which help low-income families afford private rental housing. They also manage public housing units.
